Bill Gate Gives Nigeria $12M for Yam Research

The Bill and Melinda Gates foundation provided a sum of $12million on Monday to research programmes for boosting yam cultivation which will in turn help to increase revenue of West Africa farmers. The program ’s initial focus is on 200,000 smallholder farmers in Ghana and Nigeria, 90 percent of whom cultivate less than two acres, the institute said in a statement.
