This came up after the students protest on Wednesday and Thursday. She has however, instructed the Vice-Chancellor to make ready all that are required for accreditation of those programmes within the next 6-months. She also left open the option of students who want to transfer, to do so. The affected departments are departments of Medicine, Veterinary medicine, Engineering and Agriculture.

Prior before this time, the students had on Wednesday halted the flow of traffic along the Umaru Musa Yar'adua Expressway for over two hours while protesting the suspension. This led the school authorities to order the immediate closure of the institution yesterday evening till further notice and instructed all students to vacate their hostels.
