President Obasanjo Resigns As PDP Chairman Board of Trustees


Former President of Nigeria, Gen. Olusegun Obansanjo has resigned as chairman Board of Trustees; Peoples Democratic Party PDP.

He has however sent in a letter of resignation which thus stated; "I have formally sent in my letter of resignation as the Chairman Board of Trustees PDP to the National Chairman of the party as prescribed in the party’s constitution. He has formally requested the President to allow his bowing out and to issue a short statement to that effect.

He however added "By relieving myself of the responsibility for chairmanship BOT of PDP, I will avail myself more time to devote to the international demands on me and to give some attention to mentoring across the board nationally and internationally in those areas that I have acquired some experience, expertise and in which I have something to share".

Obasanjo made it clear that his exit would afford him more time to develop his Presidential Library and to mobilizing and encouraging investment in Nigeria and Africa.
