FG Declares 20th and 21st as Public Holidays for Sallah Celebration

The Federal Government has declared 20th and 21st of August, 2012 as Public Holiday to enable Muslims mark this year's Eid El - Fitri - celebration.

Mrs Anastasia Nwaobia, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior made this declaration on behalf of the FG urging Nigerians to emulate the exemplary attributes of Islam which are “love, tolerance and peaceful co-existence amongst the people’’.

This celebration comes as a result of the 30-days fasting period observed by every Muslim.
