BRT buses vandalized as Okada riders protest ban on over 500 roads (Photos)

Since the pronouncement of a ban to restrict commercial motorcyclists (Okada) from operating in some 500 roads in Lagos state, it's been chaotic all the way as the okada riders have violently taken to the streets to protest the ban.

Incidentally, some of the angered okada riders are picking on government properties like the commercial Bus Rapid Transport (BRT). One of the BRT buses was attacked at Onipanu thereby leaving the passengers          to inconveniently find an alternative means of conveyance.

Chairman of the okada riders association, Tijani Perkins has stated that the union will meet with Gov. Babatunde Fashola in order to resolve the situation.

“I have nothing to say now. But I will be meeting with the governor tomorrow and after our meeting I may talk to the press,” he said.
Just recently, the state government's task force confiscated over 3000 bikes, a move that was clearly criticized.
