Sokoto suicide bomb attack on police station (Photos)

Sokoto blast

I reported that some members of the Islamic group boko haram attacked two different police stations in Sokoto metropolis.

 According to reports a suicide bomber drove a Golf Volkswagen car rigged with bombs to the gate of the Central Police station used the car to force the gate open and then moved directly to the main building housing the Assistant Inspector General of Police before detonating the car bomb.

The attacked affected the offices of the zonal command of the Nigerian police force at Marina killing a police officer and injuring several others. Another bomber also bombed Unguwar Rogo Police station in the metropolis.

Some unknown gunmen attempted an attack on the family home of Vice President Sambo earlier today. His home situated at Baba Ahmed road in Tudun Wada area of Zaria, Kaduna state was attacked by gunmen who made a drive by and in the process, shot dead one person.

Bomb blast hits two Sokoto police stations

Bomb blast in Sokoto

Two police stations were hit today in two separate attacks and areas of Sokoto state. According to the police, these attacks were from certain members of Boko Haram.

First attack was at the office of the Asst. Inspector General of Police, Zone 10, Sokoto, killing a policeman and injuring several other policemen. The second hit a police station at Angwar Rago area of the state thereby killing the bomber and a female hair dresser around the area.

Accident along Benin - Ore road kills 13 people

Benin - Ore road

No fewer than 13 people where killed in an auto crash along Benin - Ore road. The accident was a collision between an Anambra bound transit vehicle and an IVECO truck headed for Lagos.

Accordint to Road Safety reports, 13 males died on the spot while 1 person seriously sustained injustries and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital.

The accident occured around 7:45am along kilometer 53 before Ohosun near the boundary of Ondo and Edo state.

Falling container crushes pedestrian in Ogun state

According to reports, a container actually crushed a woman around Kara bus stop along Lagos - Ibadan expressway after it fell off the conveying trailer.

It was said that the trailer lost one of the tyres and that caused the driver to loose control and thereby resulting to the container falling by the right hand side after failed attempts to maintain control.

According to witnesses, the container fell on a woman by the side of the road in search of a vehicle to board to her destination. The unidentified woman died instantly...God rest her soul

The Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, Most Rev John Onaiyekan  on Tuesday joined Muslims at the Al-Habibiyyah Mosque at Guzampe, Abuja. He however called for greater inter faith cooperation between Muslims and Christians in order to foster peace and unity in the country.

The Archbishop who arrived in the same bus with some other members of Al-Habibiyyah society said he was there on invitation by his friend Imam Fuad Adeyemi.

"It is with a heavy heart...that we announce the sudden and untimely death of the president of the Republic of Ghana," the statement said.
It said the president, 68, died a few hours after being taken ill but no further details were given".

Popular Nollywood actor Emeka Ike has said that he would be quitting Nollywood temporarily, his reason is that he needs to strategies.

"I have not quit Nollywood in the real sense of the word. What I did was to withdraw all my movies from the market, and I mean all the movies that are related with Emeka Ike...and the reason is not far fetched. I am angry with what is going on in the industry. My conscience would not allow me to go on with the decay in the industry. So, I feel that was the best thing to do, to dissociate myself from the problem and stand out! So, henceforth, any Nollywood movie would not involve Emeka Ike. Rather, I want to market all my movies on the label of Emeka Ike Production. If you want to deal with me as an actor, you have to work with me under the label. That clearly separates me from Nollywood" .

Police in Akure arrested a 27yr old Federal University of Technology, Akure student for shoplifting 32 packs of condoms from a shopping mall.

She was being monitored, well i guess she never knew. She pretended to be making calls and all of that gimmic before she made an attempt. After her success, it didn't last long before security caught up with her outside the mall and handed her over to the police.
