This is cool. Jollof rice is not on the regular and besides, it's not an international meal. Kukere master, Iyanya happens to be in that hotel and so amazing it is to him, he snapped it and posted it to his twitter page...
He said "The hotel I am staying in London has jellof rice on their menu today cos Nigeria Won Gold"
Nigeria's Yakubu Adesokan, had won gold on Thursday in the 48 kg weight categories lifting 180 kg. Ivory Nwokorie on Friday won Nigeria's second gold medal in the London 2012 Paralympic Games in the women’s – 44kg powerlifting event, lifting an incredible 109kg.
Jollof rice is a popular dish in many parts of West Africa. It is thought to have originated in Senegal but has since spread to the whole of West Africa, especially Ghana, Nigeria and Liberia.

Flavour Nabania Dragged To Court By Ghanaian Singers
Popular Nigerian highlife musician, Flavour Nabania is currently involved in a legal battle with Ghanaian singing duo, Wutah, over the alleged theft of their intellectual property.
According to the Ghanaians, Flavour’s new single Kwarikwa on which he featured Fally Ipupa, was a ‘carbon copy’ of their Kotosa song which they released in 2008. They are accusing the Nigerian singer of stealing the chorus, rhythm, tempo and the opening saxophone they used on their song, without consulting with them for permission, being the owners of the original song.

In a move aimed at salvaging the reform and privatisation programme of the power sector, President Goodluck Jonathan Tuesday in Abuja accepted the resignation of one of the key members of his cabinet, Professor Bart Nnaji as Minister of Power, with immediate effect.
The president was said to have decided to accept the resignation, following Nnaji’s admission that companies linked to him had submitted bids for one of the successor companies created from the unbundling of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN).

Minister of Power, Prof Barth Nnaji has resigned from office. However, no reason as to why he resigned was stated. Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati in a short statement said
“President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has accepted the resignation with immediate effect of the Minister of Power, Prof. Barth Nnaji. President Jonathan thanks Prof. Nnaji for his services to the nation under the present administration and wishes him well in his future endeavours.”

Hello dear readers, i'm sure you guys have been following the late Cynthia's murder case (May her soul rest in peace...Amen!) and if you've not, perhaps i can put you up to speed when you click here

My friend and school mate is going to be charged to court for a crime he did not commit.
I just got in contact with the family of my friend Maduakor ChukwuNonso who was arrested on Monday 20th of August for selling of Restricted drugs without prescription . Apparently he was approached by policemen who pretended to be accident victims. He refused to sell the drug, but they pleaded with him continuously till he eventually felt sympathy against his better judgement.The moment he sold the drug he was arrested by the same men.While he made a mistake by giving in to his compassion,he is not guilty of the crimes being pinned against him by these men. Are they not equally guilty for coercing him to sell by their persistence and constant begging after they had being rightly refused.
After a visit to where he's been held custody, these were Nonso's words....

Her Killers Demanded N20million - Cynthia's Mum
This boys get very sick mind o! Una still demand for money ke! Cynthia's mother in a statement said that the men demanded the sum of N20million from them. Cynthia, 24, was murder by her facbook/BB friends in a hotel in FESTAC Town.

"Even though I have lost a daughter, her loss might not be in vain because there are lessons other people need to learn from this unfortunate incident. I believe it is stupid for somebody to travel to go and meet people that he or she had not known because you have been chatting with them on social media. I strongly believe that adventure is too risky. You should know people before you begin to visit them. Students especially have a big lesson to learn from this" - Major General Frank Osokogu.

Two female students have been reported to have allegedly committed suicide in Asaba, Delta state capital. This happened after the victims checked their results on the internet and discovered that it was not favourable to them.

CBN To Launch N5000 notes on September 1, 2012
The Central Bank of Nigeria is very likely to introduce into the market N5000 note on September 1, 2012. This was however considered because of the CBN's cashless policy.
It was speculated that the head of the late president Umar Yar' Adua's will be used on the face of the note but it has now been announced that the faces of three late prominent Nigerian female activists will be used on the new notes which will be launched next year

Funmi Lawal is a 2011 UNILAG law graduate/Queens College 2005. She was recently diagnosed with malignant sacorma, a kind of cancer at the shoulder region. The cancer has become so extensive that it might affect other parts of the body if surgery is not done within 4weeks.

Well, the promoters of EME North American tour, Royal Entertainment have come forth with an apology. They however issued a statement on their company facebook page two nights ago apologising publicly to Banky W and EME crew. They stated that EME crew shouldn't be held responsible for the cancellation of the shows that reasons were genuine and unavoidable.
