Django Unchained - Quentin Tarantino's Highest Grossing Film in the USA

Quentin Tarantino's blood soaked blockbuster movie, starred a former dentist from Germany, Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz) and Django (Jamie Foxx), a former slave who eventually became a freeman after he was bought by Dr. King Schultz and trained with the intent to make him his deputy bounty hunter. Instead, he is led to the site of Django's wife who is under the hands of Monsieur Calvin Candie (Leonardo Dicaprio), a ruthless plantation owner. Others include Samuel  L. Jackson, Kerry Washington, etc

Facts you may not have known....
This movie was first released in Canada and in the US on Christmas day, 25th December, 2012. While in some other countries like France, Germany, Spain, etc; 16th, 17th, 18th of January 2013 were the release dates. Some others like the Asian countries were February and March 2013.

This movie also had an estimated budget of a $100,000,000, made about $31,000,000 in its opening week on screens. Its gross earnings as at January holds over $130,000,000
Inglorious Basterds has been Quentin Tarantino's biggest hit with a gross of $120,000,000 until Django Unchained came around.

Some top movie directors have criticized the film for its repeated use of the N-word and its depiction of slavery in America as seen through the eyes of white film makers.

Talking about slavery, the Django Unchained figures have been pulled out of market after complaints from consumers and civil right groups.
