The Hobbit Movie- Facts About the Unexpected Journey

The Hobbit: Directed by Peter Jackson starred the likes of Martin Freeman (Bilbo), Ian Mckellen (Gandalf), Richard Armitage (Thorin), etc. This incredible story line had a younger and more reluctant hobbit, Bilbo Baggins set out on an unexpected journey with other spirited Dwarfs to a lonely mountain in order to reclaim their stolen mountain from a dragon named Smaug.

Facts you may not have known....  
The movie was officially released in the US on December 14, 2012 although New Zealand had its premiere on December 28, 2012. Other release dates were 12th, 13th, 19th, 20th, 26th, 28th of December, 2012. Some Asian countries have January and February 2013 as release dates.

The Hobbit - the movie had an estimated budget of $180,000,000 and made about $85,000,000 with 4045 screens in its first week in the US. However, its gross earnings as at December stands well above $600,000,000...that's way above Django Unchained you know

Interestingly, this is the first Middle-Earth film directed by Peter Jackson that does not have any speaking characters that are ordinary humans.
