Photogist: Finally! Former Gambian President For 22 Years Goes On Exile

Former president of the Gambia, Yahya Jammeh who has been ruling the country since the military era in 1994, has finally agreed to step down from power and go into exile, he made this announcement on Friday, 21st January, 2017, after refusing to concede to defeat following his loss in the elections conducted in December 2016. Even after leaders and presidents across Africa tried intervening, he refused to step down, causing the swearing-in of the president-elect, Barrow to be held at the Gambian embassy in Senegal.
Ex president Jammeh who goes by so many titles like Dr, Professor and many others is one leader that has proved very stubborn ever in the history of presidents. He has now left to go on exile after threats of military intervention to forcefully remove him from power. He has also announced that those who fled the country during his rule can now return to the country. See pictures of his departure below:
