Photogist: President Buhari Visits Gambia To Stand As Mediator

The president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has landed in Gambia to serve as the chief mediator in the political crisis going on in the country. It would be recalled that after the last election, conducted in Gambia in December 2016, the then president, President Yahya Jammeh refused to concede defeat and has remained in office, after he lost to the president elect, Adama Barrow.

President Buhari alongside other presidents including Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf of Liberia,  as well as the immediate past president of Ghana, John Mahama are currently in Gambia to resolve the political crisis. The chairperson of the authority of ECOWAS Heads of State, President Ernest Koroma of Sierra Leone was also present. See photos below:
